The battle lines are drawn in Congress and the debate rages on whether the Bush-tax cut on the wealthiest Americans should be extended. There is much rhetoric on both sides of the aisle. The Republicans are arguing for continuity and stability which they say will bring economic certainty and progress. Conversely, the Democrats are saying that the rich should pay more taxes, because it is the right thing to do.
I thought it would be interesting to let you in on some facts and then you can decide how this debate should end. In the latest numbers from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the amount of taxes paid by Americans is as follows:
1. The top 1% of income earners pay 37% of all federal taxes;
2. The top 5% of income earners pay 60% of all federal taxes;
3. The top 10% of income earners pay 70% of all federal taxes; and,
4. 90% of Americans pay 30% of all federal taxes.
One other way that the numbers break down is that the top 50% of Americans pay 97% of all taxes, while the bottom 50% pay 3%. 50% of Americans, about 150 million people, contribute 3% to government coffers. Check your last tax return statement (Form 1040) and look how much taxes you paid. The fact is that many of us get so many deductions and credits - child credit, earned income credit, dependent care deduction, mortgage interest deduction, education deduction, real estate tax deduction, charitable giving deduction, etc., that our final rate is really small.
Here is another figure that should make some people mad. Between 2001 and 2007, the number of rich people increased and so did the size of their wealth. It is said that due to breaks like lower capital gains tax and reduced tax on dividends, wealthy Americans had more money and therefore invested more. Consequently, their wealth increased. However, the CBO's report also added that as a result of the wealthy's increased fortunes, their tax contribution also increased. Interesting!
As I listen to the debate, what I found quite interesting is that people are not giving all the facts. Each side seeks to paint the other as the bad guys. Well, I guess that is politics. Get the facts for yourself. Visit CBO.gov and get the numbers.
Here are some facts about "rich" people. Most of them get their wealth through hard work and, many of them invest their money so that businesses can expand and work. This means that poorer guys get hired.
One final note: no one wants to pay more taxes. Many of those who say that the rich should pay more taxes, will one day be "rich." I wonder what their mantra will be then. Probably, "Let the richer pay more taxes!"

Wise Men & Women Still Seek Jesus
One beautiful element of the Christmas Story is the picture of wise men bowing before Jesus as a child and offering Him gifts.
The Bible declares that the men whom we pictured above were wise. In their study of the heavens, they discovered a star which signaled the birth of a king - a special King. The King, though young and unknown to the world, was so noteworthy that the men left all to find him. We do not know what obligations the men had - family, business, or civic. What we do know is that when the message of life-changing Truth - the Savior's birth - was published across the airwaves, those men left all to search for Jesus.
Can you imagine the amount of ridicule these men faced from colleagues, friends and possibly family? "Are you crazy?" "You must have bumped your head!" "Say what, you're going to give up all this to find the King? Do you even know where you're going? Oh, you're going to follow the star - keep your gaze fixed on divine guidance? Really?"
"Yes, we're off to find the King."
The story continued that the men chose precious and expensive gifts to present to the new King - gold, frankincense and myrrh. Interestingly, if one is going to appear before a king, one normally expects to receive from the king. However, these men decided that they must honor the king with their possessions and so they chose from among the most precious of what they had. And being divinely guided, they chose gifts that were of paramount importance - those gifts were relevant and prophetic. Wow!
When God got wind of the men's intentions and determination to find the Truth, He miraculously allowed the star which had signaled the phenomenal birth of the Messiah to guide them to their destination.
Before finding Jesus, however, they found the then king in Jerusalem, Herod. This person of power and position had the right appearance - the seemingly right attitude of worship for the new King. But, as we know, his plan was to destroy the plan of God - he devised a plot to kill the newborn King. But that was not to be, because the new King's purpose was not yet fulfilled.
From Herod's palace, the men were guided to where Jesus was with His parents. Upon finding the King, the men of good repute, noteworthiness - wise men indeed - presented their gifts and worshipped the King.
Picture it - these men of affluence, eminence, from possibly a well-furnished home with precious ornaments, entered probably a one-room, thatched roof hut and knelt before a child King - who had not been born to royalty and who had not been recognized by man as anyone special.
What could have made these wise men behave in such a strange way? As the saying goes: "When you know that you know that you know..." These men knew. They caught a glimpse of The Divine and their lives were altered.
They were willing to give up just about everything to find the King and to rest in His presence.
After they had given their best - a sacrifice, well-pleasing - the men who were attuned to God all along, heard Him one more time when He told them not to return to King Herod. These were truly wise men - they sought to hear from God!
The wisemen heard, they sought Jesus, they remained focused, they gave their best, and they returned home fulfilled.
Wise men and women are still seeking Jesus.

Thanksgiving Jam
It's Thanksgiving, man
'nough turkey, salad, dessert and ham.
We gather one, we gather all
Ignoring computer, work and mall
For once a year through snow or rain
Economy bad or rolling on
We all jump in Thanksgiving jam.
Hear the sound of children play
See in- laws and blood take some- give way
Granny and Grandpa smiled on and on
Yes, we all enjoy Thanksgiving jam.
Some by air, by rail and road
Shaking disappointment, delay and load
For nothing can mess or spoil this band
Heading with joy to Thanksgiving jam.
And then the day comes; it's gone
Heads bob, hearts gallop, moods are up
Participants dance a jig or two
Grateful for food and family too
Delighted that this day will stand
A time for all a time for one
Forever live - Thanksgiving jam.
Yet soon we go and soon forget
Thanksgiving jam is not a one night stand.
Wake up - give thanks - we could be dead
Have bread - give thanks - it could be lead.
Have friends - give thanks - many don't
Have health - give thanks - complaining less
For relief, many the world would give -no less.
Each day day we wake - go out - come in
Thanksgiving jam should be our thing.
Today our last it could be
Complaints forever makes a murky sea
We want to live, enjoy the moment
The end sometimes is quick and final
Then what?
We would have lost life's greatest joys
Thanksgiving jam, Thanksgiving jam
Wrapped in every moment man.

Got Health Insurance?
(Call toll free to get a health insurance quote: 877-422-7038.)
It is November and time for "Open Enrollment". Employers have rolled out the medical, dental, vision and cafeteria plans that they will offer next year. Employees are busy reviewing and comparing plans to see which works best for the family while being relatively easy on the wallet. If you are like me, you might have found that health insurance premiums are going up. In fact, if you work in America and are offered health insurance by your employer, you will notice a sharp increase in premiums.
(Call toll free to get a health insurance quote: 877-422-7038.)
Here is an example. Currently, I pay $470 per month in health insurance premiums for my family of five. The plan is expensive, but it works for us. There is no deductible. Additionally, the co-payment amounts are $20 for our primary care physician (PCP) and $25 for specialists. To top it off, the plan offers self-referrals to specialists. You can say that we pay for what we get.
(Call toll free to get a health insurance quote: 877-422-7038.)
Let us fast forward to next year, 2011. My current plan will see several changes. Monthly premiums will increase to $580. The “no deductible” feature that we currently enjoy will be a thing of the past. And, while the deductible will not be enormous - $250 per person and $500 per family – now we will only be covered for 90% of all procedures, after the deductible is met. Thankfully, the co-payment amounts remain unchanged - $20 for PCP and $25 for specialists.
(Call toll free to get a health insurance quote: 877-422-7038.)
What now? We anticipated changes, but not so much so quickly. Like many others, we are forced to review and compare several healthcare plans to see which works best for our family and is “easy” on the wallet. I have four plans to choose from and the features are mixed. While one offers a lower premium, the deductible is much higher. And for yet another – a HMO – the premium is much lower than I pay now, but the deductible is $3,000 per family and the co-payment is $40. It will take some playing with the numbers to see which plan is best, but there will not be an easy choice.
(Call toll free to get a health insurance quote: 877-422-7038.)
Nevertheless, I am thankful that I do have choices and that my employer is still sharing the cost of health insurance. Sadly, there are still close to 16 million people without jobs and therefore do not have employers to help with their healthcare coverage.
If you do, count it as one of many blessings.
Finally, if you or someone you know are shopping for health insurance feel free to contact the Health Insurance Mega Store for a quote. They compare plans from multiple providers and tell you what works best for your situation. The call is free: 877-422-7038.

Get Your Own Online Wireless Shop!
If you are like 1,000's of other people, then you have been spent 100's or 1,000's of hours on the Internet searching for a legitimate means to make some extra income. Today, I have a free offer for you. I would like to offer you a chance to earn some extra income by selling wireless products and services from the top providers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and Nextel.
What does this mean? You will have your own online wireless store with your own name. For example: Petes Wireless Shop. The store itself will be powered by LetsTalk.com, an authorized wireless retailer. You may see an example at: WirelessSolutions.weebly.com. This is what your wireless store will look like, but it will bear your name.
So what is required? 1. Review and sign an agreement of terms and conditions and I will have your store set up shortly thereafter. The Agreement will explain things like commissions (ex. $32 when a new individual plan is purchased from your store & $40 for a family plan) and how to promote your store, among other things.
Let me hasten to tell you that if you decide to get your free wireless store, there is just one little bump that you will need to get used to. When purchases are made from your store, they are tallied at the end of the month. Additionally, providers must allow some time for returns and cancellations before commissions are calculated and transmitted to a third party which sends them to me. I will then send them to you. Consequently, it may take up to 75 days (could be less) before you get paid. However, you will get paid.
Finally, let me make a disclosure. I am able to offer you this opportunity as a publisher with Commission Junction (cj.com). If you already own a website, you may apply to cj.com for a publisher's account and upon approval, you may then apply to individual advertisers (including LetsTalk.com), for the right to market their products. True Friendship?
What would you do in this situation? Give me your honest opinion of one of my current relationships and tell me if you consider this a friendship or something else.
Nearly two years ago, a friend of mine (whom I will call Jill), and I were having a great time building a relationship. We had met on the bus and although our relationship started out shakily, over time it got better. We rode the bus to work in the mornings and then home most evenings. Some months later Jill became pregnant and started to drive to and from work more than she would ride the bus. On many occasions she offered me a ride home (we work only 4 blocks apart and live about 5 miles from each other).
Towards the end of 2009 (September), my wife’s boss changed cellphone providers and offered her a Blackberry with two months of service remaining on the old plan. I used the phone and when the plan expired, gave the phone to Jill since she was with the same company.
That innocent gesture of giving away the phone (for which I had no more use) marked a dramatic turn in events.
About two weeks later, after getting home from work (Jill had dropped me at the Park & Ride), I got a call from her. This was strange! Although we lived 5 miles from each other, we had never visited each other’s home, nor had we talked by phone after getting home in the evenings (however, our spouses knew of the other). Jill told me that she was putting the phone on speaker (for her husband to hear) and went on to tell me that her husband accused her of having an affair with me (the phone I gave her was solid evidence of an expensive gift) and gave her an ultimatum to end our relationship or he would end theirs. There was clearly no choice. I expressed regret that we were wrongly accused and we said goodbye – sadly.
Christmas came and went and it was time to start the New Year. I got on the bus one morning in January and sometime later noticed Jill getting on. I tried to hide, but she spotted me and came to sit with me – as before. I told her that her action was not a wise move and questioned why. She told me that all was well and we could be friends again. I pretty much annoyed her by asking several times if that was okay with her husband. She said yes – several times.
Well, Jill did not ride the bus after that. We kept in touch via emails and met occasionally for lunch. However, I quickly noticed that Jill did not offer me a ride home anymore, nor did she call. I felt that things were not as “okay” as she had said earlier, so I asked her about not being offered a ride in her car. She told me that I could ride whenever, but she never offered and I never asked.
Jill recently got pregnant again (she miscarried the last baby) and I asked if my family could come visit when the baby was born. She ignored my question the first time and when I asked later, she said, “Of course.” It has been 4 weeks since the baby was born and each time I call to find out when is a good time to visit, Jill has not returned my call. It still appears that things are not “okay.”
Surprisingly, this morning while working, I got a call from Jill. She had come into the city to see her doctor and had stopped by to show me the baby. When I asked her if that was to be my “baby visit”, she said I could still come to her house - but not convincingly. When I told my wife of the visit she said that it is clear that Jill’s husband would not have me over and I should just “drop the matter.”
That sounds like good advice and I believe that I will listen. What would you do?
My contention is that if I am not welcome at Jill’s home to see her baby, then maybe we are not really friends and instead are playing a game of deception. It is clear that Jill wants us to be friends – I believe – but if her husband is still opposed, then she is deceiving him, and lying to me. She has not told me definitively that he is opposed. Why then do I feel that we are beating around the bush – acting like secret lovers (which we're not)?
If friendship cannot be lived in the eyes of all, is it friendship at all?

Elders Lowering Unemployment Rate?
A Clarion Call to Elders to Make Room for Younger Workers
The US national unemployment rate has remained near 10% for many months – too many months! The Obama Administration and the Democratic Congress have made some efforts to correct the situation, but unfortunately most attempts have fallen short of changing the status quo. There is one suggestion that I would like to make for reducing the unemployment rate – a follow-up call to one I made months ago.
If you are 70 years old or older, have amassed at least $1 million dollars in savings and have a solid retirement portfolio, I do not believe that you should be in Congress or any government body, be running for public office, or should be holding a full-time position in any company. This is my honest opinion.
Do not misunderstand me. At 70, you still have a lot to offer. You can still make invaluable contributions to our society. However, why should someone at 70 or older, who is “set for life” (subject to your own interpretation), occupy a seat of full-time employment while so many college graduates and middle-aged workers are out there languishing - wasting away? Yes, you have worked hard for what you have and to get where you are. That is commendable! But, let me appeal to you to think of tomorrow – our country’s future. How long can we afford to have precious minds, talents and skills sitting idly?
Elders, thank you for blazing the trail and for opening up many opportunities for the rest of us. Now you can help us again – and lift our country out of economic doldrums. We still need you, so I am not suggesting that you disappear. However, may I suggest that you adjust your work schedule?
Below is a list of what I recommend:
Cut your hours to part-time or move into a consulting role with less pay. This will mean a step up for each person below you and an entry level opening for a college graduate or someone else.
Cut back on your hours at work and travel the country sharing your expertise in small towns and cities (collect a nominal fee to cover your expenses). Again, one person on each level would move up to fill the gap and your company would be able to hire one or two persons at the entry level.
Give up your full-time position and work as a consultant, with less pay, to your company. The result will be same – your company will be able to hire one or two persons (depends on your cut in salary) on the entry level.
Give up your full-time position and travel to some hard-hit areas to offer training to those who are looking to better themselves. They will benefit from your many years of experience, setbacks and victories. This move on your part will open up a position or two in your company, and it will prepare others to move into other openings. And,
Give up your full-time position and travel the US with your spouse and loved ones. (You could retain a consulting role in the company.) This time with loved ones will be indescribable, plus you will pump needed cash into the sluggish economy. Also, your company would be able to hire one or two persons. Everyone wins!
There you have it. Was that so bad?
I urge you to think about this. You have sacrificed a lot to make the United States what it is today – O, beautiful! – O, glorious! - A beacon of hope! – “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave!” Now the United States needs you to keep it on good footing.
Will you heed the clarion call?

Tear Down Those Walls!
The longer we live the more we see
Life's joys and sorrows touch you and me.
The more people we meet the more we learn
You cannot from life's touches completely turn.
Life touches all of us.
It matters not if we're black or white
We all have ups
We all have downs
We're most times wise
Sometimes all play the clown.
There's no need for scientists
From experiment to experiment -
Producing analyses.
We all have wins and similar needs.
Life touches all of us.
Blacks live in poverty
Many whites too
The brown man and yellow
Life touches all of us.
The white man seeks for acceptance and love
The black, the brown and yellow too.
The brown man works hard so his family is well
The black man, white man and yellow man too.
The yellow man hates bigotry, prejudice and crime.
The white man, the black man and brown man too.
Our fears are similar, aspirations the same
Yet we erect imaginary walls
Dividing asunder and bringing us shame.
Tear down those walls!
Why the walls?
I am man, so are you
I laugh, I cry
You do too.
Walls erected means unity objected
Let us stand and not disband.
Tear down those walls!
Yes, diverse races
Yet similar life experiences.
Yes, some elements among all of us
Sow fear and dissent to scare the rest of us.
But the majority wins all the time
If we stand together,
Pledging to fight together.
Tear down those walls!
Barriers between us means we cannot see
What really eats you, brings you to your knee
What makes me fear -
When I really need a hand - so dear.
Tear down those walls!
That is the dream!
The longer I live
More possible it seems.
For I've discovered the greatest wall-busting force of all -
God's abundant and inexpressible love
Sent to man on wings of a Dove.
Love that consumes
Love that heals
Love that unites
Love that forgives
Love that says we're one
Despite where each of us began.
No more black man, white, brown or yellow
We are one, heirs of God, peculiar, royal
Our eyes fixed on the same sight -
That, dear friends, holds us tight.
Have you experienced this wall-buster?

Boobs Heaven?
Boobs! Boobs! Boobs! Boobs are everywhere! They come in all shapes and sizes and are displayed by females of all ages. The envelope has been pushed. Men, there is no need to dream anymore, no need to wonder.
Let me hasten to say that my intention is not to condemn anyone for how they dress, because I have no right to. However, I am seeking some answers.
Not too many years ago, boobs were a mystery. Men hoped for a peak – hoped that there was a little cleavage to see. That has quickly changed. Now you can find boobs everywhere – in the office, on public transportation, in schools and even in church. I have asked what happened and my wife has ventured that it is a matter of women “pushing the envelope.”
It appears that thousands of envelopes have delivered the same message: “Push me.”
And by golly, they have been pushed! We now have instances where some females just do enough to cover their nipples and let everything else go. Yes, men, I know that for many of us that is fine. What is the big deal?
The fact is everyone is free to do whatever. True!
Anyway, my question remains – What happened? Why are so many boobs on display? And by the way, ladies, how does a man deal with boobs staring at him? You know – I stand talking with a lady whose boobs are pushing the envelope. It is natural for a man to want to look, but it is also impolite to stare. What should we do? Help!!!
One interesting note is that you will see a female wearing a low-cut top – boobs out – and yet she periodically tries to pull something over them. Yet, there is nothing to pull.
Please do not misunderstand me; I love my boobs (my wife carries them around). However, I believe my boobs should be mine to enjoy at home, not for the world to view. Incidentally, a friend of mine once said that it was okay for my wife to share her boobs with others – sightseeing only. Really? Is that what it is? Everyone feels like sharing boobs, hence there is so much to go around?
I started out by saying that I just need some answers. If you can explain this phenomenon, please do. Have you even seen young girls – in school – going around displaying boobs?
Thankfully, the colder weather is coming, which means that the jackets are coming out of closets. I wonder what comes out, when the lady steps into the office and the jacket comes off?

Christian - What Responsibility
"If my people, who are called by my Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chron. 7:14)
As I sat in the church service on Wednesday night and listened to a beloved sister share from the Word of God, 2 Chronicles 7:14 was impressed upon my heart. The preacher's emphasis was prayer – the urgency to pray more and to believe in God’s mercy to meet our needs. Our sister eventually quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14, but sometime before she did, I was reminded of the verse and it brought tears to my eyes.
I have read and quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 many times, but there was something else that the Lord wanted to show me. As followers of Jesus Christ, the onus is on us to create the atmosphere for God to do more in and around us.
"If my people…, then I will hear…"
As Christians, we become very outraged by the innumerable acts of ungodliness that surround us. We are troubled that: there are so many broken families; too many children are rebellious and disobedient to parents and are disrespectful to authority; man devalues life and will take it in a flash; so many people betray one another and destroy relationships; there is such a great push to make homosexuality mainstream, when only a few years ago it was considered an “alternate lifestyle"; some people actually support abortion generally and partial-birth abortion specifically; some leaders are so dishonest and corrupt and they hide who they really are to maintain their hold on power; too many people judge people by the color of their skin and by their beginnings; … The list goes on.
I will concede that we live in a world of good v. evil, righteousness v. sin. The fact is that there is an enemy at work to destroy man – “The Devil comes to kill, steal and destroy.” However, what I believe God wants us to know is that we have a greater responsibility, as Christians, to make some things happen.
2 Chronicles 7:14 states that when God’s people humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then God will act – forgive and heal. The sad fact is that too many of us are not humble, are not praying, are not seeking God and are full of "wicked ways". Ouch! That was painful to write.
Here is the plain truth: too many of us walk around with unforgiveness and bitterness towards a brother, sister, spouse, friend, etc; too many of us consider ourselves to be better than other Christians – we just do not associate with certain people; too many of us walk in constant anger and wonder why our children are so angry; too many of us (husbands) ill-treat our wives (not necessarily physically); too many of us (wives) disrespect our husbands; too many of us belittle the Pastor, even in front of our children; too many of us cheat at home, work and elsewhere; too many of us care only about ourselves; too many of us are simply too hypocritical... The list goes on.
Here is the crunch: God will do more through us and impact our world for good, when we, His people, humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.
As a young believer I believed that I should not mix with unbelievers - don't hang with them, play with them, etc. That was stupid. How can we impact without contact? Now that I know better, there is something that is even more important than having contact with unbelievers - being Christlike among them - not just on Sundays.
Yes, I know. I know. I know. We are imperfect as Christians and will make mistakes. True! Our attitude, therefore, should not be one of arrogance or condemnation. However, if we constantly strive to love others, care about others, and demonstrate Christlikeness, they will know. They will be impacted.
Think about how many of us profess Christianity. In spite of the thick darkness in our world, we can make a difference in each of our little corners. Light always penetrates darkness - always!
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Now let's think about that.

Find An Extra Source of Income
Yesterday I received notification from the power company that our monthly bill is going up. Recently, we received our auto insurance policy which showed an increase for the new year (I thought that the more loyal you are as a customer the lower your bill - according to the insurance company some laws changed - nice!) In July I found out that my monthly commute (train & bus) expense will increase from $79 to $193 per month starting in October. Wow! In addition to those, there are a few other monthly commitments that are heading up. What should one do?
In these days of broke governments, shrinking budgets, uncertain jobs, little or no pay increase and stagnant investments, it is an added insult when your expenses continue to rise while your income does the slow march. In an effort to stop the gap, many people comb the Internet looking for ways to make extra cash. It is my encouragement that you should do the same.
However, while I am suggesting that you find an additional source of income, I am not insisting that you search the Internet for one. Yes, you can find legitimate ways to earn an extra dollar on the Internet (I have). Yet, the fact is that with so many people searching for a way out, there are many others offering baskets with which to carry water. Got it? My preference is that you find something that you like to do, and can offer to others at a price.
We are very resourceful. The Bible declares in Genesis that God made us in His image and after His likeness. Additionally, the Bible states in Psalm 139 that we are beautifully and wonderfully made. Think for a minute about the universe that God created. Awesome! Now, if that same God has put some of Himself in us, what can stop us from innovating and creating something marketable?
Yes, it is easy to sit and lament about all the price increases, but what a waste of time that is! Let us get up and build something - together would be great.
Interestingly, I was just talking with a lady at the bus stop and she expressed her sadness about the impending train and bus fare increases. I told her to find something to make extra money and she asked me for ideas. My reply - "It must be something that you enjoy."
Go and do the same.
Now, when you have found something that works for you - it's an individual thing - share it and I will post your success story. By the way, the best place to start is to pray for direction. God has promised to freely give wisdom to anyone who asks (James 1).
Go innovate!

The Church is You!
We do not go to church as we commonly say. We may go to a building or to a school, but we do not go to church. You and I make the church. Consequently, the church is the sum total of all its members. Whatever the church is that is a reflection of who we are. Interesting!
The Apostle Paul says that whenever we – the church - come together for worship, someone should bring a hymn, someone a word, someone a praise, someone a tongue and yet another an interpretation of the tongue. The fact is, if no one brings anything, then there cannot be worship and coming together is futile.
It is sad that we often see the church in terms of what “they” are not doing or are doing. What about us? If the church – we – are failing in a ministry area, it means that we are not working to build that ministry. It means that someone in church is not using his or her God-given gifts to serve. If the church is unfriendly, it means that we are unfriendly. Do you get the picture? We are the church. The church is whatever we make it, or want it to be.
Here is another startling reminder: as children of God and followers of Jesus Christ, we are still walking in imperfection. Yes, we mess up. Yes, we do not always get it right. Therefore, wherever we worship as a group of believers - the church - it will be imperfect.
But thanks be to God that through Jesus Christ we have victory. There is hope! The Bible declares that as we focus on Him, we are being changed from glory to glory (becoming better Christians, if you will). If the church is willing to become more like Christ, we certainly can. Then, what glorious times we will have together – as the church!
And, even then, we as the church will sometimes step on each other’s toes and will always see room for growth.
Finally, what really is the role of the church? Yes, as Hebrews 10:24 tells us, we must consider each other to "provoke unto love and good works." Hebrews also reminds us not to forsake to assemble together as believers. However, Jesus’ main commission to the church before returning to the Father was, “Go ye into all the world…” So is the church mainly for us as believers? I do not think so. Again Jesus on one occasion said that He came to call sinners to repentance, not the righteous. There is strong evidence that the church’s main focus should be the lost – sinners - not us. Have we lost sight of this our calling?
If our focus has shifted to what we can get out of church, we have lost sight of Jesus’ commission to go. Now think about that.

"Demonization" of the Wealthy
Why do some people in general and one political party in particular tend to depict the wealthy as having too much? While it is true that some people and companies “play rough” and trample others to earn what they have, most of the wealthy work hard and invest a lot to get what they have. Why then should the wealthy be demonized? If Jesus said that the “richer will be richer and the poor, poorer” why do we think that man can change that?
You may recall that while growing up we envied what the other kid had. Unfortunately, even as adults we still wonder why certain people can drive certain cars, buy certain houses, wear certain clothes and visit certain places, while the others just cannot seem to get ahead. The same envious spirit that plagued us as children has followed us into adulthood. That may be one explanation for some people’s belief that wealthy people and wealthy companies have too much. What say you?
Let us focus on wealthy companies.
Inarguably, some companies deal dirty. Many big companies force Mom and Pop out of business; pay their employees meager salaries; offer inadequate benefits such as medical insurance plans that require huge out of pocket payments; employ cheap, and in some cases child labor to produce raw materials; ship jobs overseas; and the list goes on. There are many stories of wounded people, destroyed lives, shipwrecked careers, and prison cells packed with the “once big and wealthy” to prove that dirty dealings and inhumane business practices exist.
However, there is one principle that remains true: you reap what you sow. If, on the other hand, companies are doing right and investing a lot, is it not fair that they should reap a lot of good – returns?
Let us reason for awhile. Would you agree that most companies deal more fairly than how they deal abusively? I believe so. In fact, all companies which are wealthy today had to pay some price for their success. I want to focus on what is positive.
You may agree that companies that do well spend millions on research and development. You may also agree that these wealthy companies treat their employees as people by looking out for their health, well-being, future and their families. You may also agree that these wealthy companies invest in the training and all-round growth of their employees and they equip them with the tools to do well. You may also agree that wealthy companies invest in their communities through sponsorships of many kinds. You may also agree that these wealthy companies hire more and more people as they improve the quality of their products and business booms.
Now, if you are honest enough to agree with the above statements, can you understand why wealthy companies are constantly demonized? If wealthy companies do research, invest, offer great benefits, hire 1,000's and build their communities, I believe that it is fair that these companies should reap the harvest.
Wealth companies are needed to invest in research and development that benefit all mankind. The poor cannot invest. Wealthy companies are needed to expand and improve infrastructure from which everyone benefits. The poor ones cannot do that. Wealthy companies are needed to hire 1,000’s of workers ensure that they will have a paycheck to support their families. The poor ones cannot do that. Wealthy companies are needed to invest in equipment and machinery to ensure that people of various skills and training can find jobs elsewhere. The poor ones cannot do that.
Do you get picture?
You can say with certainty that many wealthy people and companies are selfish and are only interested in what works in their best interests. However, without those who have some wealth to build and hire, what would happen to the rest of us?
Remember – you reap what you sow. If the wealthy sow wealth, it follows that they will reap more wealth. One grain of corn produces two or more ears of corn. Think about that.

Balance of Power in Washington
Many conservatives are working indefatigably to ensure that Republicans regain control of Congress in the upcoming Midterm Elections. While that is a good thing from a party standpoint, it may not be the best thing for our country. In my humble opinion, no party should control all branches of government.
The framers of the United States were insistent that while each branch of government – The Executive, Legislature and Judiciary – is powerful in its own rights, none should be allowed to operate without checks and balances. Today we have the best form of government because each branch is able to slow the “power march” of the other. However, the balance of power works best when one party does not control every aspect of government.
One thing is clear about our politicians in Washington is that each side is bent on promoting and to some extent “legalizing” its ideas for what America should be, whether those ideas be good or not. Politicians refuse to work together to produce “engines” that both sides will agree work best for this country. Instead we have politicians constantly bickering across the aisle and behaving like spoiled children when their ideas are ignored.
Let us be honest. Prior to 2006 when the Republicans controlled Congress and George W. Bush was President, how much good came out of Congress? Yes, admittedly, some good was accomplished. Yet, we watched exhaustingly as lawmakers constantly fussed, blocked bills, and did everything possible to prevent the other side from eking out a “win”. Whenever there was a “win”, it generally came about on a party-line vote.
Jump ahead to 2009 and 2010. What do you see? The Democrats control the federal government and the same things are happening: fussing, accusations, blocking and party-line “wins”. Not much good for America!
Yes, I am conservative and I want our country to reclaim and retain its conservative roots. However, I also want to see Republicans and Democrats working together for the good of America. That will only happen when government is shared among the political parties and the balance of power is intact. When both parties share power, they are forced to put America first and themselves second.
Desired 2010 Election Results:
Republicans 1;
Democrats 1; and,
Americans – Winners!!!

Understand Where Credit Scores Come From
If you are going to improve your credit score, then logic has it that you must understand what your credit score is and how it works. Without this information, you won’t be able to very effectively improve your score because you won’t understand how the things you do in daily life affect your score. If you don’t understand how your credit score works, you will also be at the mercy of any company that tries to tell you how you can improve your score - on their terms and at their price.
In general, your credit score is a number that lets lenders know how much of a credit risk you are. The credit score is a number, usually between 300 and 850, that lets lenders know how well you are paying off your debts and how much of a credit risk you are. In general, the higher your credit score, the better credit risk you make and the more likely you are to be given credit at great rates. Scores in the low 600s and below will often give you trouble in finding credit, while scores of 720 and above will generally give you the best interest rates out there. However, credit scores are a lot like GPAs or SAT scores from college days - while they give others a quick snapshot of how you are doing, they are interpreted by people in different ways. Some lenders put more emphasis on credit scores than others. Some lenders will work with you if you have credit scores in the 600s, while others offer their best rates only to those creditors with very high scores indeed. Some lenders will look at your entire credit report while others will accept or reject your loan application based solely on your credit score.
The credit score is based on your credit report, which contains a history of your past debts and repayments. Credit bureaus use computers and mathematical calculations to arrive at a credit score from the information contained in your credit report.
Each credit bureau uses different methods to do this (which is why you will have different scores with different companies) but most credit bureaus use the FICO system.
FICO is an acronym for the credit score calculating software offered by Fair Isaac Corporation Company. This is by far the most used software since the Fair Isaac Corporation developed the credit score model used by many in the financial industry and is still considered one of the leaders in the field. In fact, credit scores are sometimes called FICO scores or FICO ratings, although it is important to understand that your score may be tabulated using different software. One other thing you may want to understand about the software and mathematics that goes into your credit score is the fact that the math used by the software is based on research and comparative mathematics. This is an important and simple concept that can help you understand how to boost your credit score. In simple terms, what this means is that your credit score is in a way calculated on the same principles as your insurance premiums. Your insurance company likely asks you questions about your health, your lifestyle choices (such as whether you are a smoker) because these bits of information can tell the insurance company how much of a risk you are and how likely you are to make large claims later on. This is based on research.
Studies have shown, for example, that smokers tend to be more prone to serious illnesses and so require more medical attention. If you are a smoker, you may face higher insurance premiums because of this. Similarly, credit bureaus and lenders often look at general patterns. Since people with too many debts tend not to have great rates of repayment, your credit score may suffer if you have too many debts, for example. Understanding this can help you in two ways:
1) It will let you see that your credit score is not a personal reflection of how “good” or “bad” you are with money. Rather, it is a reflection of how well lenders and companies think you will repay your bills - based on information gathered from studying other people.
2) It will let you see that if you want to improve your credit score, you need to work on
becoming the sort of debtor that studies have shown tends to repay their bills. You do not have to work hard to reinvent yourself financially and you do not have to start making much more money. You just need to be a reliable lender. This realization alone should help make credit repair far less stressful!
Credit reports are put together by credit bureaus, which use information from client companies. It works like this: credit bureaus have clients - such as credit card companies and utility companies, to name just two - who provide them with information. Once a file is begun on you (i.e. once you open a bank account or have bills to pay) then information about you is stored on the record. If you are late paying a bill, the clients call the credit bureaus and note this. Any unpaid bills, overdue bills or other problems with credit count as “dings” on your credit report and affect your score. Information such as what type of debt you have, how much debt you have, how regularly you pay your bills on time, and your credit accounts are all information that is used to calculate your credit score. Your age, sex, and income do not count towards your credit score. The actual formula used by credit bureaus to calculate credit scores is a well-kept secret, but it is known that recent account activity, debts, length of credit, unpaid accounts, and types of credit are among the things that count the most in tabulating credit scores from a credit report.

Network Marketing Lies #6
Lie #6 – You just don’t have enough belief!
Ughh!! Aren’t you sick of this one? Of all the lies in network marketing are there any that are more annoying than this one? The evil lie of motivation and belief has got to be one of the greatest shams in the history of sales (not just network marketing). Millions of distributors everywhere are told that the reason they aren’t successful yet is because they just don’t have enough belief. Or they don’t have a big enough “why.”
Don’t you just want to lose your lunch when some big shot in front of the room tells you that? The heavy hitters in your company would have you believe that you just need to get to that “breaking point” where you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired and then…nothing will be able to get in your way!
So what do you do? You listen to inspirational CDs. You cut out pictures of the car you want to buy and the places you want to go. You put those pictures everywhere – your fridge, your dashboard, your cupboard doors, your computer monitor – so you’re constantly reminded of what you’re working so hard for. You think positive. You go to every meeting you possibly can to energize your battery and “pump” yourself up for the week. You go to the annual national rally because you know that just seeing all those massively-successful stars up on stage will be enough to kick you into overdrive. You’ll be so overwhelmed and inspired that you’ll be unstoppable! You’ll reach that magical turning point where everything starts working and your bank account is filled with cash! Stop and think about it for a minute. Really think about it. Is that how it works? Is
fanatical motivation really the missing ingredient to success?
Last time I checked, you don’t need to have a huge “why” and a dream board just to make an average $30,000 income with a job. So why do we need all that stuff in network marketing? I mean, wouldn’t it make sense that if you were doing what you’re supposed to be doing, you’d at least be able to make a comparable income with your business? Now I know what you’re going to say. Yes, of course owning your own business is different. It’s harder than working a job. You don’t make money immediately. It’s called delayed gratification. You have to lay the foundation first before you get paid. We all understand that concept.
However, network marketing doesn’t have to be as hard as it is for most people. The point is, if you’re truly building your business correctly, you’ll start seeing positive results, small as they may be at first.
(TheRenegadeNetworkMarketer.com/report/)
If you’ve been hard at it for over 3 years and you still aren’t cash-flowing…something is seriously wrong! And I can guarantee you it’s not your motivation.
Think of it this way:
If You’re Using A Shovel To Dig The Foundation For A
House – When You Could Be Using A Bulldozer – Then yes,
You’re Going To Need A Lot Of Motivation To Get The Job Done.
Make sense? The more inefficient your system is and the more ineffective your tools are, the harder you’re going to have to work to get results. And because of that, you have to make up for it big time with motivation. When you’re using the right tools for the job…you’re seeing steady, consistent progress and things are trucking along smoothly…motivation becomes almost an afterthought. Let me ask you: If you had highly-qualified prospects to talk to every day that understood what you do, expressed an interest in learning more and were eagerly awaiting your response, do you think that motivation would be a problem for you?
No!
But motivation becomes a major issue when you have to force yourself to pick up that 10,000 lb. phone to call your son’s soccer coach who you know doesn’t give a rip about your business! That’s when you need to whip out your handy-dandy goal statement and remind yourself exactly why it is you’re annoying the heck out of people. That’s what I did. I willed myself to harass everyone on my names list 5 times over until
eventually people just stopped talking with me. Lost a few friends in the process.
You know what though? I finally did reach that “magical” turning point in my business where all of a sudden everything started working. I went from barely signing up 1 person every 5 months…to sponsoring 10 people every month like clockwork. I went from trying to set up appointments with Perkins waitresses…to having success coaches calling me to ask if they can do what I do. What happened?
I stopped worrying about belief and started concerning myself with the real nuts and bolts of how to market a business. Which is this: Find the people who’re looking for what you have, use an effective marketing system to automatically sell to them for you, and then spend your time working with the best ones.

Obama Slams Senate Republicans on Unemployment
Obama Slams Senate Republicans
Today, July 19, 2010, President Obama, flanked by three unemployed Americans, stood in the Rose Garden and slammed Senate Republicans for blocking an extension of unemployment benefits to nearly 2.5 million Americans. Obama quickly pointed out that the Republicans extended unemployment benefits under President Bush. The President also noted one reason some Republicans refuse to move the Bill forward - They believe that by continually extending benefits some people will grow dependent and refuse to look for jobs. There is one key thing that the President failed to emphasize.
Republicans have voted to extend unemployment benefits since Obama became President - yes, Mr. President - and they are willing to do so now in light of the many Americans who are still struggling to make ends meet. However, what Senate Republicans are asking is that we take care of the unemployed without adding to the national debt and increasing the budget deficit. Senate Republicans have even suggested how to accomplish that - use $30 Billion from the unused stimulus fund. At the last count, there were about $300 Billion of such money.
Now that we understand what is really happening, who is really playing politics? President Obama scolded Senate Republicans for being partisan, but is he bipartisan? The fact is, the Democrats, who hold every ounce of power in Washington, are bent on doing everything possible without Republican input and with seeming little concern for our skyrocketing deficit. Didn't they ram a massive healthcare bill through Congress without one Republican vote? Now that Republicans get a tiny bit of opportunity to demand accountability and common sense, they are the bad guys.
Someone has to stand up for the country. Someone has to think of our children's and grandchildren's future.
Interestingly, President used the bully pulpit today knowing that tomorrow Robert Byrd's replacement will be sworn in, giving the Democrats enough votes to block a filibuster. They then plan to vote on the unemployment Bill shortly after the swearing in ceremony.
This begs the question: was President Obama's address today a waste of time, or was he just being disingenuous?
Mr. President, have the Republicans voted to extend unemployment benefits since you became president? Mr. President, what is wrong with using some of the already allotted stimulus funds to cover this Bill and avoid adding to the debt?

Today, July 19, 2010, President Obama, flanked by three unemployed Americans, stood in the Rose Garden and slammed Senate Republicans for blocking an extension of unemployment benefits to nearly 2.5 million Americans. Obama quickly pointed out that the Republicans extended unemployment benefits under President Bush. The President also noted one reason some Republicans refuse to move the Bill forward - They believe that by continually extending benefits some people will grow dependent and refuse to look for jobs. There is one key thing that the President failed to emphasize.

GRTA Xpress Elimination?
Atlanta, GA - Xpress Bus Service
Heading home on Xpress ride.
Ride is sweet, no need to weep
People around me, fast asleep.
Sitting here comfortably still
Thinking of the coming increased bill.
Like everywhere and everyone
Economic woes, Xpress begun.
Analysis done, the count is in
Xpress' future lies very dim.
No funds allotted next budget year
Xpress eliminated? Oh, my dear!
Someone said there is a plan
To push operations next summer long.
Plan's contents not very good
But maybe, the best job that could.
Fares are set to sail fast and high
No more 20- or 40- ride.
One's monthly fee going way up:
Think 79 to 185 -
Not a step up, no not a dive
A mighty leap! O what a jive!
There's already excited chatter
Steps necessary, but what a matter!
A whopping 100 plus increase
Some say, "We'll be driving, please."
Yet the truth be known
Who wants to drive
In any place that's Atlanta zone?
Added too, though fares go high
They're cheaper than
A month's gas supply.
So what will it be?
More carpools, vanpools galore?
Will many exit Xpress' door?
Time will tell.
The pain is real
Economic woes on Xpress' heels.

DIY - Shop, Save & Earn
It may seem strange that I am encouraging you to do this yourself – shop, save and earn. However, the sad truth is that many people would rather pay someone to provide them with a particular product or service when they could get it for themselves and earn some money while doing it. Let me show you how.
Shop, Save & Earn.
How many of you travel? Whether you fly occasionally or frequently, spend a week at a resort, or book a Caribbean Cruise, in most cases you call a travel agent (not knocking them because I sell travel too) or you go to an online travel store – Travelocity, Orbitz, Priceline, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc. and you book. Right away you pay someone else for doing something that you can do on your own and get paid for it. Did you know that you can book your travel from any of the same online stores above and earn some money back? Sure you can. Follow this link, sign up for free, book your travel and earn.
Shop, Save & Earn.
How many of you visit a cell phone store and pay for new or renewed service? How many of you lose a phone and pay for another without saving anything? Now you can buy a phone from yourself, buy cell phone service from yourself, renew or upgrade cell phone service from yourself and YOU earn. Check it out. Sign up for free, complete your cell phone related transaction and earn.
Shop, Save & Earn.
Cell phone service is not the only service that you can buy from yourself. Did you know that you can buy the following services from yourself - digital television, VOIP, high speed internet and identity theft protection? You sure can. Visit the Blastoff Network, sign up for free, buy from yourself and earn. It is that simple.
Shop, Save & Earn.
Do you think that is all? No, there is much more. There are many other products that you buy from someone else and pay them when you should be paying yourself. You buy: books, movies, DVDs, vitamins, toys, jewelry, electronics, clothes, video games, flowers, etc. from someone else. Start buying from yourself. Go now. It is FREE to start and it will not cost you more than you spend to buy stuff that you want.
Shop, Save & Earn.
Wait. Before you rush off, do not be selfish. I have shared some really powerful information with you. If you act, you will benefit – EARN extra cash. However, you will earn more if you give this information away. By helping others to save some money, you will earn more money. This is pretty cool. Pass it on.

Signs of Economic Recovery or Not?
Mcdonough, GA - It is Thursday, June 24, 2010 and my wife, Sharon, and I decided to eat out. Strangely enough, we do not normally eat out during the week, but we decided that since our boys were sleeping over at their friend’s house, we would use the opportunity to have a night out. We still had Eliana to think about, but since she was at the daycare all day, we decided to bring her along and not leave her with someone. We were set to go, but where?
As is our custom, Sharon went through several coupon flyers which we receive weekly to find the best deal available at one of our local restaurants. She found one that offered 1 free meal with the purchase of 1 meal and 2 drinks from the “Combination Menu.” The restaurant was La Parilla – Mexican. Sharon loves Mexican food (I like it) and we had not eaten Mexican for some time so it was an easy decision. However, before leaving, Sharon looked at a few other coupons and picked up one for WOW Cafe & Wingery – a restaurant only 2 miles from home. She said she would prefer wings to Mexican, and the coupon was an offer of $5 off a $20 purchase.
So off we went. We left the house with 2 coupons, drove to the strip mall for WOW Cafe & Wingery and discovered that it had gone out of business and some other restaurant – Ultimate Pizza now occupied the space. Wow! What happened to WOW?
Luckily, we still had the coupon for La Parilla and so off we went – about 5 miles away.
Ten minutes later we pulled into the parking lot and remarked how many cars were there. We also noticed several people milling around outside as if waiting to be seated. Sharon and I thought that was strange. It was Thursday – not quite the end of the month or week – and therefore not necessarily a payday. Furthermore, we are still experiencing tough economic times, so why so many people would be eating out during the week?
We went inside and sure enough, there were people everywhere, plus some waiting to be seated. We were told that our wait would be about 15 minutes. Sharon and I remarked that La Parilla appeared to be doing good business. Could it mean that the economy is rebounding? Our visit to La Parilla on a Thursday showed evidence that there are people who are weathering the economic storm, or there are people who have decided that despite tough times they would stick to certain routines like eating out when they felt like it.
It could also be that people enjoy Mexican food and particularly like what La Parilla offers. Who knows?
Is the economy recovering? It is hard to make a definitive statement – I think. I have two friends who have been out of work for more than a year and currently there is no sign of hiring – no calls and no interviews. In addition to that, while La Parilla may be doing okay, there are other restaurants that are faring badly.
As I mentioned before, WOW was gone and so was Fuddruckers right next door. Also, we passed other restaurants that did not have as many cars in the parking lot. After all, it was Thursday.
One bright spot I noticed in all of this is that no matter how tough times are, people are still trying their best to build something and secure their families’ futures. WOW is gone, but now there is Ultimate Pizza where it once stood. I wish them every bit of success! (It pains me when a business closes its doors.)
I believe that more people are realizing that we must be creative and find ways to ensure that when the employer lets us go (I have a friend whose last day at work will be Friday, July 2nd. His job is being shipped to India.), we have something solid to fall on.
In that light, I have found 2 such opportunities for building something solid that I want to leave with you: one is Free and the other requires an investment, but both can bring you an extra income.
If you’re looking to earn an extra income, but do not have the money to invest, try this opportunity: YourBiz.LetsServeYou.com. You simply share the information with others and earn from every person who signs up for home services, shops or books travel. Check it out.
On the other hand, if you want to build residual income and get paid every time someone pays a bill (cell, VOIP phone, satellite TV, identity theft protection insurance, etc.), plus earn bonuses for sharing your business with others, you may consider investing in FHTM: LetsServeYou.biz.
Inspite of what the signs are, dig deep within you. With God’s help, coupled with what He has invested in you, you will survive all challenges and surmount all mountains.

FHTM's Simple Business Model
FHTM’s Simple Business Model
Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing (FHTM) offers a simple business model. You watch television, you listen to the radio and you surf the Internet. Therefore, you are aware that many companies spend millions of dollars to advertise their products and services. How many times in 15 minutes do you hear: “Geico - 15 minutes could save you 15% or less in car insurance”? The fact is companies set up huge advertising budgets in the hopes of getting some customers – loyal customers, who will purchase what they offer and return later for more.
This is where FHTM comes in. FHTM positions YOU as the advertiser (word-of-mouth) of well-recognized brands to your relatives, friends and their friends. YOU bring in loyal customers for cell phone service from top companies (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc.) or satellite TV from Dish Network or identity theft protection and pre-paid legal service from IdentaShield, these companies pay some of their advertising dollars to FHTM and FHTM pays you a monthly commission.
What a simple way to build residual income and create financial freedom!
Do you know someone or do you use a cell phone? Do you know someone or do you watch advanced TV? Are you or someone you know looking for high speed Internet? Do you know someone who may need identity theft insurance (everyone does!), health care discounts, roadside assistance, nutritional products, an at-home exercise program, or air and water filters?
The more loyal customers you gather for your business, the bigger your monthly commission check. Consequently, the second aspect of the FHTM’s business model is that you bring in 3 people who want to start their own business (ONLY $199!). These Independent Representatives set out to build their own businesses by gathering loyal customers. The customers of the new Reps’ (business partners) become your customers as well and very quickly you expand your “customer base.”
Do you believe that you can share this simple business model with someone else?
If you answered “Yes” to any of the above questions, you can do FHTM. Take it and run. Build residual income for your family. Pay off your debts. Free up more time for your family. Watch your boys play soccer. Take that long, overdue vacation!
I invite you to see all the products and services that FHTM offers at: www.LetsServeYou.biz. Call me (678-772-7077) with questions about how to start your own company.
Let us create wealth together!

What Are We Giving to God?
What are you giving to God? The common tendency is for us to think that God is a Giving Machine. We stretch out hands or hold them and always expect to receive goodies from above. The truth is that God is our Creator and the Father of those who have accepted the Gift of His Son, as Savior and Lord. As Creator and Father, God loves and gives us the best. In fact, in Romans 8:32 the Bible declares that God gave up the most valuable "thing" for us - His Son, Jesus Christ, and there is nothing else that He will not do for us. So, God gives the best and do we give Him anything in return?
Does God need anything from us to be God or, does He need anything from us to be complete? A resounding, "No!" Why then should we give to God and what can we give?
Let me venture to add that we can give only what is in our power to give - worship, time, talents and resources.
When I say "worship" some will immediately picture themselves in the sanctuary, lifting their hands and praising God. That is good, but it is not good enough. Worship ought to consume us and it should punctuate every aspect of our daily lives. I believe that we do not do worship, but we live worship. Our moments are spent being conscious of our Father and so we walk in reverence to Him, while reaching out in love, courtesy and compassion to all others. If we really worship, the people on the bus, in the store, at the ball game and at work will know.
Then what about our time? Is God getting the best of our time? Yes, God knows that we have children and have to work. He also knows that we are married and must devote time to our spouses. Yes, He also knows that we are involved in church work and have to attend a meeting. What He does not understand is why we do not make a greater effort to share some of our spare time with Him. "What time?" you may ask. All that time we spend doing a whole bunch of other things, some of which are unfruitful and downright unproductive. We can do better with the time we give to God - no doubt.
Should we talk about talents? How many of us have buried our talents like that fellow who received one (was really money) in one of Jesus' parables? Some of us might not have buried our talents, but God is not being honored by what He gave us. Is that you? Do you sing? Can you comfort? Do you organize well? Do you have a knack for befriending others? What is it? Let us give it God.
Finally, let us talk about giving our resources to God. We read in the Gospels of one Mary, Lazarus' sister, who, before she knew Jesus approached Him while He was having a meal at a Pharisee's house. The story goes on that Mary produced a container with a very expensive ointment and poured it on Jesus' feet while using her hair to dry them. What was the cost of the ointment? By one's estimate - a year's salary. One of Jesus' disciples remarked that the ointment should have been sold and the money used to feed the poor. Jesus rebuked Judas and told him to leave Mary alone. Furthermore, Jesus said that Mary had done a good work and her action would always be remembered. Wow!
Jesus was right as usual. Two thousand years later we are still reading about Mary. Pretty cool, right?
The point is simple: Jesus honors the gift when the best is given. Remember Cain and Abel. Our understanding is that Abel gave the best to God, while Cain did not. Abel's gift was accepted and Cain's was not.
I heard a story of the $100, $50, $20 through $1 bills. The bills had some kind of sharing time to talk about their adventures. One bill after another shared how they had been to palaces, mansions, theatres and many prestigious places around the world. When it was time for the $1 bill to share, it said that while the others had been around the world it had spent most of its time in church. Now think about that.
So what are we giving to God? He has given the best and continues to do so. Will we also step up and give Him what He deserves? That is the point. We do not give our best to God because He needs it. We give our best to God because He deserves it.

Network Marketing Lies #4
Lie #4 – We’ll build your business for you.
We’ve all seen the stuff on the net about fully automated online recruiting systems andhow you can make outrageous money while they do all the work for you. Maybe you’ve tried a few. It certainly is an appealing idea. Who wouldn’t want a turnkey system that does everything for them? Well, here’s the scoop on these type of deals: Why they appeal to people (not that that’s hard to figure out)…what they can’t do for you…and what a real automated system will do for you.
If you’re like most people, as I am, you’re probably a bit skeptical when you hear absurd claims like,
“No selling or recruiting required - we build your downline for you!” As you should be. After all, if it was really that easy everyone would be driving a BMW right? Really what these claims are is the lazy bum’s appeal.
“Just secure your position today and we’ll build and manage your downline for you. There are already hundreds of people waiting to be placed underneath you, all you have to do is secure your spot! With our amazing automated system, even a couch potato like you can get rich!”
Just like every “get rich quick” scheme that’s ever come along, it’s an easy pitch to sell. Because…People Always Want To Believe That The Road To Success, Fame And Fortune Is Quick, Easy, Painless And Risk-Free. An appeal to laziness is a very strong appeal indeed. The promise of something for nothing is as old as time itself.
But let’s break this down a little further and reiterate a point I made at the beginning of this book. Network marketing is unique in that it’s a business venture that’s made available and offered to an extremely large amount of people. Never before has owning your own business had such widespread appeal. With network marketing, the average person now has viable and realistic dreams of “making it big.” 50 years ago, the road to riches was not so accessible. You had to start your own brick and mortar business with employees and all the works. Here’s where the problem comes into play.
(The Renegade Network Marketer.com/report/)
You’re a salesperson. All business owners are. There are two things that every network marketer sells. One is the products that the company provides, such as telecommunications services, nutritional products, etcetera, etcetera. But what makes you unique is that what you’re also selling people is a business model. You’re selling them a vehicle to achieve whatever financial goals they may have. It’s really the first time that a business model has been sold to the public in this manner. Thing is, the average person, who’s known the employee model their whole life, doesn’t know a lot about business. They don’t understand basic business principles.
As a “customer,” the average American is not business-savvy and does not know what to look for when selecting a home based business. So to our instant-gratification-society, the idea of a “hands-off” system that will generate a ridiculous income with no investment of time or effort and just a little bit of money, seems like an actual possibility. Business 101 is that somewhere along the line, a product or service must be sold to an
end consumer. If a company says that “no selling is required on your part,” this is a dead give away they’re playing you for an idiot and you’re about to be taken to the cleaners.
Just ask yourself this one simple and obvious question:
If No Selling Or Anything Else Is Required On Your Part, Then Why Would They Need You?
The answer is: They wouldn’t.
If you’re not contributing anything to the business besides a measly sign up fee, there would be no reason to pay you obscene amounts of money. You have to be contributing something in order to justify getting paid. That’s a fundamental economic truth. There’s no such thing as something for nothing. There’s no such thing as getting filthy rich with a $99 investment and no time or elbow grease. Here’s what you are contributing in a real legitimate MLM business to make it work: The indispensable human interaction. This is why genuine network marketing companies do indeed need you and are willing to pay you big bucks for building a huge organization.
The key thing to understand is that…
