I know this post will make many people mad, but remember that it is only my opinion.
I believe men and women 70 and older who have done well, accumulated sufficient wealth and currently have a sizeable retirement fund should stop working full-time. Yes, stop working 35 plus hours per week! Before you launch aspersions, please listen to my reasoning.
Every year we have 1000s of graduates who compete for an insufficient supply of jobs. One reason for this job shortage is the fact that there are 1000s of our elders who insist on staying the course until death do them part. It is sad when our elders, some with bent backs and others with canes insist that they must work while 1000s of young minds are being wasted.
What in the world am I saying? Am I saying that the world no longer needs the wisdom, ingenuity, and experience of our elders? Am I saying that our elders should step aside so the young can mess up everything? Neither. I am saying that our society needs both.
I believe a good leader is one who knows that the business, company or organization is not about him/her but rather about its sustaining power and continuity. A good leader ensures that there will be continuity by slowly releasing the reins of power and allowing the next batch of leaders to assume control. A good leader does not die in office at 83 and leaves company executives uncertain of what to do. The need of our elders to gradually relinguish power so that those younger can begin the process of learning to lead, presents the opening for a compromise.
I do not believe that our elders should quit completely, but rather that they should take on less, have their salaries drastically reduced to a nominal fee and leave room and money for our graduates. I know that this is easier said than done. The fact is that our elders have sacrificed sweat and time to accomplish what they have. True also is the fact that they have spent so many years doing what they do and it is hard to imagine giving it all up. What would they do? Here is my suggestion.
It is time for our elders (those who have amassed considerable wealth and sufficient retirement funds) to ease into more consulting or advisory roles and coach the next generation of leaders. Our elders would agree to consulting fees less than their current salaries. What would they do with their spare time? My suggestion is that this time be given to voluntary work in 1000s of organizations devoted to training and improving the lives of the next generation of leaders.
Think for a second. If this simple suggestion is followed our compnies would have greater continuity of outstanding leadership, made possible by the continual giving of the wisest among us. Additionally, companies would have greater resources to hire more graduates, positioning them to learn from the best and taking their place in sosiety. Furthermore, not only will our elders ensure that our society always has leaders, they will undoubtedly lead fulfilled lives to the end.
There is no greater service to mankind than to pour into the lives of others.
Finally, elders, if you decide to follow my suggestion and gradually ease out of office, do not spend all that extra time helping others - get out and spend time with yourself, spouse and loved ones.

Private Label Rights
I've been doing a lot of reading lately about Private Label Rights (PLR) content. I used to think that it was only for lazy people who didn't want to do their own writing. But as I learn more, I've come up with lots of great ways I can use PLR in my own business.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!
The first couple of products I created using PLR only took me about half an hour. There have been a few sales so far from them so that was definitely time well spent.
When searching for PLR content to use, I found there were a lot of different types of sites available. Some offered monthly memberships and others offered just one time purchases. So be sure to look around before you decide where to buy.
The site I found that was by far the best was PLRWholesaler. Not only do they have an unbelievable amount of content, but it's completely FREE. Most sites charge an arm and a leg for the amount of content that this guy is giving away.
And although I haven't been through everything yet, what I have read is very good quality. It's stuff you would actually want to use as your own.
Since it's free, I highly recommend that you check out PLRWholesaler and see if they have anything that you can use in your business. There just may be an ebook or audio recording that you could quickly brand with your information and start selling to your list.
Check it out and let me know what you think...

What Really Matters? Spousal In-fighting
As spouses, we spend so much time trying to win. Why is winning so important, even at the expense of hurting and disrespecting our partner? The bottom-line is that we have missed what is really important. It is great to sit down and count the score - see who has won more "battles." Is it really? Winning most battles gives a temporary sense of satisfaction and maybe ego-rush. But in the final analysis of life with our spouse, this means nothing.
Here is my humble suggestion. Instead of one spouse wanting to win all battles, why don't both endeavor to score a big victory for the union? What really matters is not the number of points we accumulate from spousal battles, but rather how much respect and love each spouse feels at the end of each argument.

What Really Matters? Building Lasting Relationships
An old saying insists that "first impressions last. " That is true. However, first impressions do not ensure lasting and meaningful relationships. We all put so much effort into impressing the boss, charming the girl or dazzling the guy. While those are good in themselves, what really matters is not what we project at first, but what outlasts that first meeting. In other words, the Real Me.
Let us not be fooled into believing that we can always charm our way out of or into anything. Sooner or later, someone will demand some character. If all we have is charm, what will happen then? The fact is if we cannot put up, we will be forced to shut up.
I am convinced that we should spend time improving our personality, but more importantly, we should work indefatiguably to build a solid character profile. When that boss is faced with a deadline and needs a level-headed person, who has demonstrated reliability and integrity, he/she will not call the "charmer" known only for charming. If that young lady needs some keen ears into which she can pour her soul, she will not think of your dance moves or cute smile.
Our world is need of people who get in because they want to be in for the long haul. Too many relationships and partnerships falter, fail and fall by the wayside because too often we project a big lie about ourselves and when the truth surfaces - it always does - it shatters everything in its path.
Will the Real Me please stand up?

What Really Matters - What does your child see?
It feels really great spending long hours working to ensure that your family is provided for and has everything it needs. Unquestionably, I believe you feel compelled to do all in your power to ensure that your family's basic needs are taken care of. I know it gives you great joy when your child or your wife says "Thanks" for a gift given, a desire fulfilled. Nothing can compare to the sense of satisfaction that brings.
But what really matters?
Time shows that the child is not as impressed with the time you spend working as he or she is with the time you spend with them. Children enjoy receiving gifts, but are more inclined to cherish a dad's presence at the dinner table, a dad throwing a ball to them in the yard, a dad watching their favorite cartoon with them, a dad coming home early or getting up from the computer just to be with them.
