I have always respected Colin Powell as a dedicated public servant, full of integrity and honor. Now I find myself questioning my admiration for this great American hero.
How can one forsake all one has stood for to support something less appealing?
For years, Colin Powell has been a Republican. What core values drove him to the Republican party and kept him there for all these years? Has he sold out these core values?
How can Colin Powell rid himself of the core values he has held so dear to support a party and a man that go against what he believes? I am baffled!
Colin Powell, stand up and answer. You are bigger than that!

Barack Hussein Obama - Not a Savior
Barack Obama is not a savior. Socialism is not the answer. Wealth distribution is not the solution.
As an African-American, this is a great time in our nation. One of us has been nominated by a major political party in the United States and may become the next president of this great country. Yet, as an average Joe who believes in working hard to support my family, I cannot support a platform of socialist views and a would-be president who wants to tax the rich to help the poor. It's incredible that more people do not find this unacceptable.
America is built on the "pursuit of happiness." The word pursuit suggests a striving for and going after, not waiting for the government to send me a check - with money taken from someone else.

Barack Obama's Tax on Corporations
Barack Obama talks about adding pressure to corporations by increasing their tax burden. His rationale - corporations get too many tax breaks while the middle and lower classes do not get enough. Sounds great, right? This is music to people like me struggling to pay bills, living from paycheck to paycheck. But people like me can easily miss what is wrong with this stance.
Business get tax breaks, use credits to buy equipment, expand business and hire workers - you and me. Now, you increase the tax burden on businesses and what happens? Businesses cut back on buying equipment, cut back on expanding and, fire you and me. Is this a good plan? This is what Barack Obama proposes.
It is a proven fact: the less money you have to spend, the less you spend. You could borrow, but that comes back to bite you - really bad.
Can someone tell Barack Obama that the more you tax businesses the less they spend and the more likely it is that you and I will not have jobs.

America Gone Far Left!
If the pundits are right, in three months, America will be thrown to the mercy of the far left. Can you imagine - a liberal president in Barack Obama - a liberal Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and a liberal Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid? Is America gone mad? Are we really ready to throw America away?
We are all hurting from the economic meltdown. Our wallets are running on empty and we are mad. We have made Bush and the Republicans the scapegoats. But let us stop and think. Are we ready to give up on America and pass it on to a bunch of liberals?
Despite our pain, most Americans are moderate. Yet, the polls seem tilted toward a massive liberal victory this November. Can we afford Barack Obama's plan to increase taxes when our economy is out of control? Can we entrust our country to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid who declared that the Iraqi War was lost? Here are two national leaders who would have given anything to have our soldiers come home in defeat, embarrassment and the derision of the world, not to mention the terrorists.

Barack Obama - America's Robin Hood
Barack Obama makes a good talk about taxing the rich and giving the money to the middle and lower classes. This certainly brings back fond memories of one of my favorite characters, Robin Hood. I enjoyed Robin Hood movies as a boy. As an adult, I think it is wrong, not patriotic, to take away what others have worked hard to achieve and give it to others. This is plain Robin Hood economics.
Is Barack Obama America's Robin Hood? That's the image he purports. It is time someone told Barack Obama that America does not need a Robin Hood. This country is built on the sweat of people everywhere working hard and believing that no matter what, they can make it big if they keep at it. America was not built on hand-outs.
